My name is Paul McDivitt. I’m a science and environmental writer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have a master’s in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder. My thesis evaluated new strategies for communicating about the science and risks of, and potential solutions to, human-caused climate change. I’ve been published by the Denver Post, Discover Magazine, Ensia, the National Park Service, and several university science institutes.
This blog began as a project for a graduate course on blogging. Its original purpose was to summarize the current scientific understanding on controversial science topics (thus the blog’s name: The State of the Science.) It has since evolved into a personal website housing all of my writings and videos on scientific and environmental issues.
